Fredesigner's Black Friday sale takes 25% off everything in the store until 11:59 PM Pacific Time on November 30, 2026. The discount is applied automatically at checkout, with no code, and it covers the size, header, lining and lift options you choose on custom curtains and shades. Use the weeks before the deadline to measure carefully, compare samples and place one complete order.
What does the Black Friday offer include?
The offer is 25% off sitewide, shown in your checkout summary. It covers made-to-measure curtains, fabric Roman shades, woven bamboo shades, bedding, table linens, bath textiles and sample books. The percentage is taken from the configured price, so the options you add are discounted too.
| What | Detail |
|---|---|
| Discount | 25% off sitewide |
| Dates | November 1 to November 30, 2026, ending 11:59 PM Pacific Time |
| Code | None needed; the discount is applied automatically at checkout |
| Rewards coupons | Not combined with the 25%. Checkout applies whichever option gives you the lower price |
| Free standard shipping | Discounted subtotals of USD 225 or more, to the United States, Canada and the listed European destinations |
| Standard shipping below USD 225 | USD 18 to the United States and Canada; USD 23 up to USD 200, or USD 17.99 above that, to the listed European destinations |
| Express shipping | USD 139 per order to the United States and Canada, USD 129 to Europe; it shortens transit only |
The free-shipping threshold is worth a closer look. During the sale it is measured after the discount, and it has been lowered to match: a cart worth USD 300 before the 25% comes to USD 225 and still ships free. From December 1 the threshold returns to USD 300.
If you won a coupon on the Fredesigner rewards wheel, you do not need to work out which deal is better. The 25% and the rewards coupons do not stack, and checkout applies the one that saves you more. The current offer page always shows the live promotion.
How much does 25% save on a custom order?
Custom prices depend on the size and options you choose, so the quickest way to see your number is to enter your measurements on the product page. The price updates before you add the item to the cart. The table below shows how the discount and the shipping threshold work together on a few round cart totals for the United States.
| Cart before discount | After 25% off | Standard shipping (US) |
|---|---|---|
| USD 200 | USD 150 | USD 18 |
| USD 300 | USD 225 | Free |
| USD 600 | USD 450 | Free |
| USD 1,000 | USD 750 | Free |
Two practical consequences follow. First, a single combined order is more likely to clear the free-shipping threshold than several small ones. Second, options such as a blackout liner or a cordless lift cost 25% less this month, so it is a sensible time to choose the version you actually want rather than the cheapest configuration.
What should you measure before you order?
Custom curtains and shades are made to the numbers you enter, and made-to-order items that match the confirmed order cannot be returned. The half hour you spend measuring is the most valuable part of the project. Use a steel tape, write down every reading, and measure each window separately, even when several windows look identical.
Curtains
- Rod position: mount the rod about 6–10 inches above the window frame and extend it about 6–15 inches past each side. A wider rod lets open panels stack beside the glass instead of over it.
- Width: pleated headers already have fullness sewn in, so order the finished width to match the rod. Flat headers (grommet, rod pocket, back tab and flat hooks) are ordered at about 1.5–2 times the rod width, with 2 times recommended. On a 100-inch rod that means two 75-inch or two 100-inch panels.
- Length: measure from the top of the rod to the floor or your chosen end point, to the nearest inch.
- Stack: open curtains need somewhere to go. Plan roughly one-fifth of the covered width for the gathered fabric.
The curtain measuring guide walks through each step, and the header style guide shows how each header hangs.
Roman and woven bamboo shades
- Inside mount: measure the width at the top, middle and bottom and the height at the left, center and right, to the nearest 1/8 inch. Enter the narrowest width exactly as measured and do not subtract anything; the factory deducts 3/8 inch from the width during production.
- Depth: an inside mount needs at least 2 inches of flat window depth, or 2 1/2 inches for a motorized shade. With less depth, choose an outside mount.
- Outside mount: measure the coverage you want rather than the glass. In the example from our guide, a 36-inch opening plus 3 inches of overlap on each side gives a 42-inch shade.
Use the Roman and bamboo shade measuring guide for the full method. If a window is unusual, such as a bay, a corner or a very tall opening, send the product link, all your measurements and a few photos through the contact page before you order.

Which products are a good place to start?

If you are still deciding on a color, order the matching sample book first. Sample books are paid items, they are also 25% off this month, and their price is not credited toward a later order. Our guide to testing fabric samples explains how to compare them in daylight and after dark.
When should you order for Christmas?
For the United States and Canada, made-to-order window treatments are currently estimated to arrive 7–10 business days after order confirmation, including production and standard transit. Ordering by November 30 gives you both the 25% discount and the most comfortable margin before the holidays.
| Order confirmed | Estimated arrival (7–10 business days) |
|---|---|
| Monday, November 30 | December 9 to December 14 |
| Thursday, December 3 | December 14 to December 17 |
| Monday, December 7 | December 16 to December 21 |
| Thursday, December 10 | December 21 to December 24 |
Business days exclude weekends and public holidays, so Thanksgiving and Christmas Day do not count. These dates are estimates, not guaranteed delivery dates. An order confirmed on December 10 sits at the very end of the window, with no room for a measurement question or a carrier delay, and orders placed after November 30 are charged the regular price. Express shipping shortens transit only; it does not remove production time. For European destinations, ask support for the current estimate before ordering. The shipping policy has the full details.
What happens if something is wrong when it arrives?
Check the parcel against your confirmed order as soon as it arrives. Our pre-hanging checklist covers what to look at before you install anything.
- Custom items that match the confirmed order are not eligible for return, exchange or refund, and that includes a change of mind about the color.
- Wrong, damaged or defective items, or items materially different from the confirmed description: contact support within 30 days of delivery with your order number and clear photos. After review, approved claims may be resolved with a remake, replacement, repair support or refund.
- Eligible non-custom items, such as bedding and table linens, can be requested for return within 30 days of delivery if they are unused, unwashed, undamaged and in the original packaging. Contact support before sending anything back.
- Sample books are not returnable.
The refund policy sets out the full terms.
Your Black Friday checklist
- Measure every window and keep all the raw readings.
- Compare samples in the room, in daylight and in the evening.
- Configure each product and check the price it shows.
- Put everything in one cart so the order is more likely to clear the USD 225 free-shipping threshold.
- Check the checkout summary for the discount, shipping and every custom option.
- Place the order before 11:59 PM Pacific Time on November 30.
A Black Friday order is still a custom order. The discount makes this a good month to buy, but the result depends on the same things as any other month: the right fabric, the right lining and accurate measurements.
