Outside-mount bamboo shade installation reference
For a notched wooden headrail secured to face-mounted L-shaped brackets with hand-tightened nuts. Use this reference only when the hardware supplied with your order matches.
This video does not cover no-drill hardware, clip-in aluminum headrails, or motor and remote setup. Follow the instructions supplied for your exact product.
What the video shows
Mark the bracket positions, secure the L-shaped brackets to the mounting face, align the headrail slots with the bracket bolts, then tighten the nuts while supporting the shade. The final shot shows the shade lowering; it does not demonstrate a motor or remote.
Match every part to the exact product.
- Open the instructions supplied with the treatment and identify every bracket, clip, fastener, and control component.
- Confirm the intended mount, mounting surface, nearby wiring or plumbing, and the tools required for that surface.
- Keep the treatment supported and protected until the mounting points are ready.
Do not substitute fasteners or mounting distances based on a generic guide when the product instructions state something different.
Level, check clearance, then mark.
- Dry-position the hardware and confirm that the treatment will clear trim, handles, sills, and nearby surfaces.
- Use a level and verify the spacing against the supplied instructions before drilling.
- For a large or heavy treatment, use another person to hold and confirm alignment.
Secure the hardware before releasing the treatment.
- Install each bracket or support with the orientation and fasteners stated for the exact product.
- For adjustable pin-hook pleated curtains, seat the hooks in the pleat tape, then hang them from the matching ring eyelets. Keep the panel supported while attaching it. Compare header connections
- Confirm every lock, clip, and fastener is fully engaged before letting go.
Large or heavy treatments may require another person. Keep the treatment supported until all attachment points are secure.
Test a short movement before a full cycle.
- Watch the fabric, headrail, brackets, and travel path during the first movement.
- For motorized products, follow the exact charging, pairing, remote, and limit instructions supplied for the product.
- Stop if the treatment binds, tilts, contacts an obstacle, or moves any bracket.
Do not force the treatment. Recheck alignment and the product-specific troubleshooting instructions before another test.
